BlackJack & I first competed in 2002 at the Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, MO. After a disastrous start, we ended the weekend in 7th place and were hooked. 2010 will be BlackJack’s 9th season of competition and he still has the drive and desire if not the physical ability. Since 2002 we’ve had some success, 4th place in EV at the 2005 Great Outdoor Game, World Championship invites in 2006 and 2007, and 2nd place in the Veteran Dog Division at the Nationial Championships in 2007 and 2008. In 2008 BlackJack and I were inducted into the DockDogs Hall of Fame. Since 2006 I’ve been an at-large member of the rules committee.
